Program Notes
Moonlit Meadows is a tranquil work inspired by the serene feeling of standing in an open field at night, looking up at the stars. The piece utilizes static modal harmonies and several recurring melodic themes that prominently feature all three members of the trio. The work was written for the Orenunn Trio and premiered in Lawrence, Kansas on April 25, 2004.
