Crestline Escapade is an overture for concert band that features each section of the ensemble during the course of the piece. A fanfare opens the work, followed by energetic and fast-paced music. A lyrical interlude featuring soloists provides contrast to the fast music before reprising the fanfare and first section. The overture ends with a lively coda and lasts approximately 7 minutes, 30 seconds.
